Barbara began her career as a cultural anthropologist working with Fortune 500 companies in the areas of organizational learning, change and culture. She became a pioneer and advocate for team-based ethnographic methods as a source of discovery to fuel innovation. Her book (with Harry Hutson) about hopeful leadership was named by Harvard Business Review as one of 20 breakthrough ideas in 2007. For over a decade (with Barbara Cavalier) she designed and led a women’s leadership development program.
